Logistical Support Information for NIH Natcher Conference Center


Natcher Conference Center (Building 45) NIH Main Campus Multiple conference rooms available. Most are on the lower level, but the auditorium balconies and atrium are on the entry level. Available 8:00 am to 5:30 pm (extended hours may require charges for security)

Food and Beverage:

The Natcher Conference Center has a cafeteria and convenience store available to meeting attendees. These are located on the entry level on the other side of the main lobby area from the conference atrium. All catering must be done through one of the approved caterers listed at the link below.

NIH Visitor Information:

Visitors should arrive by Metro – ‘Red Line’ to the Medical Center (you will see this at the top of the map) or plan to park in the MLP11 parking lot and enter through the Gateway Center. (There is extremely limited visitor parking inside the NIH campus and none of it is close to Building 45.) You must then go through the NIH Gateway Center where you will be asked to present a photo ID. Alternatively, if you are intending to take a cab, please ask the driver to drop you off at the Visitor's Center.
Please plan for at least 30 minutes at the Gateway Center in case of possible delays. Additional security information, including identification requirements and restricted items is available on the NIH Visitor

NIH Shuttle Schedule/Walking:

Campus shuttle service is available from the Gateway Center to the Natcher Conference Center (Building 45). The NIH Campus (Red Line) shuttle departs approximately every 15 minutes and takes 25 minutes. The Natcher shuttle stop is located at the front entrance of building 45. From there go through the main lobby to the atrium on your left. For additional information, consult the NIH shuttle website at:

Visitors may choose to walk from the Gateway Center to the Natcher Conference Center. There is a pedestrian pathway that leaves form the upper level of the Gateway Center. Pedestrians coming from the Gateway can enter directly into the atrium.
